Although the story features Urdu-speaking families, the Mansour family has been settled in Switzerland for three generations. Their ancestors originally migrated from the Indian subcontinent before eventually making Switzerland their home, which is why the younger generation is Swiss-born while still deeply connected to their cultural and religious roots. Many of their relatives still live in India and Pakistan. The Mansour family owns a business empire in luxury hotels and real estate.

Similarly, Ibrahim's family shares a comparable background. Their ancestors also migrated from the Indian subcontinent, but the family later settled in Türkiye, where Liyana were born and raised.
